These disclosures summarize the most important conditions of GME ACTION membership. They are drawn from the GME ACTION Member Agreement, which controls.
GME ACTION is a medical transport membership program and is not insurance. Membership benefits, eligibility, geographic availability, transportation authorization, exclusions, limitations, and member financial responsibility are governed exclusively by the applicable membership agreement. Emergency medical transportation and assistance services are powered by Global Medevac. GME ACTION does not replace health insurance, travel insurance, or emergency medical services. In a life-threatening emergency, contact 911 or the applicable local emergency number.
1.GME ACTION is not insurance
GME ACTION is a medical transport and travel assistance membership program. It is not health insurance, travel insurance, or an insurance product of any kind. It does not pay hospital, physician or treatment bills, and it does not replace 911 or local emergency services. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or the applicable local emergency number first.
2.The Member Agreement controls
Any description of benefits on this website is a summary. Benefits, eligibility, conditions, waiting periods, geographic requirements, transportation authorization, limitations, exclusions and member financial responsibility are governed exclusively by the GME ACTION Member Agreement, which controls in the event of any conflict with marketing content.
3.Benefits are secondary
GME ACTION membership is not the primary payer for emergency transport costs. Where the member has other coverage that will pay for services described in the Member Agreement, that coverage is primary and must pay first. GME ACTION covers eligible costs outside the member's insurance coverage limits at a reasonable and customary amount determined by GME ACTION.
4.Transport must be arranged by GME ACTION
All arrangements for transportation or services must be made by GME ACTION. GME ACTION is under no obligation to reimburse a member who independently authorizes, contracts for, or pays for services that are not in conformity with the Member Agreement. Members should notify GME ACTION at the earliest possible moment when transport may be needed.
5.Medical confirmation is required
Transport requires the recommendation of the attending physician and the agreement of the GME ACTION Medical Director that transport is in the member's best interest and that the member is sufficiently stable. Not every transport request is eligible, and helicopter transportation is available at GME ACTION's discretion except in a medical emergency.
6.Waiting periods
Conditions for which a member is receiving care, prescription medication or treatment, or that are determined to be preexisting within the 180 days before the effective date of enrollment, carry a 90-day waiting period before services are rendered for that care, prescription or treatment. Organ retrieval and organ recipient transportation services carry a one-year waiting period.
7.Geographic scope
The Basic Coverage Area is the contiguous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas and the Caribbean islands. Worldwide coverage requires written notice of travel at least 10 days in advance with a written itinerary, and applies only when GME ACTION issues written confirmation. GME ACTION allows up to 90 days per trip. Services are not available in Cuba, North Korea, Iran or Antarctica.
8.Benefit limits
GME ACTION will not provide more than two air medical transports per member per service year. Individual benefits carry their own caps and conditions, including a $25,000 limit per emergent helicopter trip, $20,000 of worldwide out-of-pocket transport expenses, $1,500 per year for international ground ambulance or helicopter reimbursement, $1,000 of member travel expenses, and $500 for a visitor or escort. Any remaining balance after GME ACTION meets its obligations is the member's responsibility.
9.Participation in professional or sanctioned competition
Recreational and amateur participation, including practice, training, track days and organized amateur events, is covered subject to the Member Agreement. Participation as a professional athlete or driver, or in professional, sanctioned, paid, purse-paying or prize-money competition, may be subject to additional terms, eligibility requirements, limitations or prior approval, and where required must be disclosed to and confirmed by GME ACTION in writing before the event.
10.Fulfillment partner
Emergency medical transportation and assistance services are powered by Global Medevac and its provider network. GME ACTION is not the medical transport provider and does not deliver emergency services directly.
